Promoting Gender Equality in the Workplace as a Key to Success
UNI PdR 125:2022 “Guidelines on Gender Equality”
“When we lose the right to be different, we lose the privilege of being free.”
(Charles Evans Hughes).
Diversity is always a source of growth and leads to a wealth of perspectives that enhance the decision-making process, stimulate creativity, and foster innovation. Promoting gender equality creates a more inclusive and respectful work environment, which in turn helps boost morale and employee satisfaction and fosters a greater sense of belonging and well-being among both male and female employees, encouraging their commitment and, consequently, increasing their productivity. Furthermore, in terms of employer attractiveness, organizations that actively commit to gender equality are more appealing to job seekers. An inclusive environment not only facilitates the recruitment of qualified personnel but also increases the likelihood of retaining employees (retention), both men and women, thereby reducing the “the scourge of employee turnover” and ensuring continuity in projects. It is for this reason that EMA Europea Microfusioni Aerospaziali SPA has decided to implement its Integrated Management System with Gender Equality Certification (UNI/PDR125:2022). This is an ambitious project that demonstrates the company leadership’s commitment to DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion).
EMA presented its current certification program and the activities it has implemented during the webinar:
